26 Mental Health Awareness Months

Written on by Nyvia Taylor

Eyes wide shut.

Malleable frontal cortex.

Sensitive skin and

wet, salted, tears.

Trekking inward.

Invisible burdens.

I ask myself;

do you see me?

And,

ponder on whether sight is equivalent to being.

Or, reassurance.

I exist,

perched between grateful and sight.

The world ends,

and begins anew in every therapy session.

Unpacking.

Deliberating.

Transforming.

Healing cyclically.

One hand over heart one hand over belly.

Breathing in; full.

Exhaling light.

On days like this I get introspective.

Suspending memory in honor. I baptize myself in who I was, am and will be.
