A big thank you to all who attended the Voice and Vision, Inc. 2020 “Wholistic Virtual Conference on December 10th and 11th, 2020.
In case you missed it, or attended and want to refresh your memory, more than 150 people tuned in to the Voice & Vision, Inc. 2020 “Wholistic” Virtual Conference. This year’s theme, “ Get Up Off of That Thing”, focused on Black/African American communities where there are a lot of barriers for those seeking resources for mental health wellness and addictions. Our goal was/is to educate individuals, families, and communities, to help connect people needing services and treatment, and to promote generational wellness.
Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Voice and Vision, Inc. Valerie Melroy hosted a dynamic lineup. The two-day virtual event was packed with plenaries and moderated by Alicia S. Johnson who provoked thoughtful conversations and ideas. One of the hottest topics at the conference was, “Why are We So Angry and What Can We Do About It?” Led by, Dr. Tim Barksdale, Senior Executive Director of Clinical Services for Merakey; Doctor of Clinical Psychology, Licensed Social Worker and Adjunct Professor of Psychology.
There was a plethora of industries that came together to focus on wholistic mental health. We want to recognize a few key individuals who helped make this year’s conference memorable:
If you missed the conference, it will be available on the Voice and Vision, Inc. Youtube channel next week.
Overall, this conference was informative, empowering, touching, and fun. Beyond that, I am hopeful that some of the relationships we developed will last a lifetime!
