New Executive Director

At a luncheon in November, the Voice and Vision team met to celebrate the retirement of Valerie Melroy and welcome the new Executive Director, Dr. Peter McLallen.
Voice and Vision Board of Directors Chair, Daniel Moyer, thanked Valerie for her years of service. In introducing Peter, he noted that the board sought “someone who not only brought executive-level experience, but who could foster collaboration, listen deeply, and guide this organization with both heart and strategy. Perhaps most importantly, we were looking for someone with lived experience. Peter encompasses all of these things.
He brings a blend of academic expertise and real-world experience. He holds a Ph.D. in International Psychology as well as an MBA. In his previous roles at William Carey International University, he served as Executive Vice President and Acting President, demonstrating the ability to lead complex organizations through times of growth, transition, and change.
What stood out most to us, however, was not only Peter’s experience, but his approach. He is a leader who believes in listening. He is eager to learn the intricacies of mental health, addictions, and disabilities directly from the staff who devote themselves to this work every day.
His leadership style is grounded in partnership, humility, and shared vision. We are confident that under Dr. McLallen’s leadership this organization will continue building on its strong foundation while embracing new opportunities to serve, innovate, and make an even greater impact.”
