My War with Words

I am fighting a losing battle, and I know it. I want the English language to stop changing. Well, not completely; I don’t mind adding new words and expressions here and there; I just wish the old ones—and the way we use them—didn’t have to change. Sometimes life takes you where you don’t want to go. Life brought me to Philadelphia—a place I never wanted to live again. I spent a few years here as a young adult, but never felt very happy here. Frozen Feet

On New Year’s Day my friend Sue and I went back and forth about whether we felt like going to the Mummers’ Parade.
